on being a guy

Hey sexy...how you doin...

i've noticed some guys really go overboard to try to impress a girl. they want to look confident but end up saying something or doing something that makes them look or sound cocky (hahaha). a note to all you guys out there: you don't need to try too hard! just be yourself and thats attractive in itself. :)

finance types

i was playing tennis the other day with friends... we went out to eat later and i had this really interesting conversation with this guy (tKM) who, apparently, has no job :b his company closed down and was going to move to Calgary so he took the severance package. 6 months of salary!!! what a bum :b must be nice tho, to relax for a bit, not have to worry about getting up in the morning to get to the office. those finance-types have it made ;)

West Coast Feasts Official Launch Party!

i was at the West Coast Feasts Launch Party last night at Salmon House on the Hill. what a blast! free food, free wine, free liquor... what more could you ask for? oh and of course, great company ;) ...

i met quite a few people last night and put faces to names, while mingling with the tourism and restaurant industry. it was an awesome night! had to sober up a bit but i got home alright and dragged my weary self into bed at 2am...

in transition

i'm slowly moving into this new look and feel for my blog :) so bear with me if things look a little wacky right now... ;)

i had lunch with an old friend the other day. actually, he was a good friend of one of my ex-boyfriends. we had a great lunch, talked about what was happening in our lives, etc. i remember thinking that he hadn't changed a bit -- still looks the same, but i guess a little bit more mature :b

so we talked on the phone the other night and i couldn't help but wonder how he thought i had changed, if at all, from when i first met him while i was going to university. i *had* to ask. :b

he said, i looked the same, still bubbly and happy... and then he said that i've always been an easy person to talk to. "whaT? ME? really?!" i was a bit shocked... guess no one really has told me that outright. and i was very glad to hear it.

i think back of all my friends, past and present. there have been a few friends who have really leaned on me when they were going thru hard times -- breakups in relationships, especially. am i easy to talk to?

then i think of my past relationships. i was always big on talking about anything.. even stupid trivial stuff :) yah.. talking is important. maybe thats why i love 3 hour dinners -- good food and engaging conversation :)

toast toast...

i was having a really good breakfast the other day with a friend of mine... poached eggs (! yum!), toast, homemade potato hashbrowns, and ham... i was going to eat my toast and stopped to contemplate eating the crust...

friend: (laughs) you don't like the crust?
me: actually, no. but everytime i have toast, i've always eaten it even tho i don't like it!
friend: (starts to cut the crust off my toast) here, enjoy!

hahaha i couldn't help but laugh. i can't believe i've always eaten the crust!

perfect dates...

i was talking to MP the other day about perfect dates. to me, a great date can be a number of things -- 3 hour long dinners with great food and good conversation, doing an activity that both people enjoy (ie. sports, walking the beach, enjoying the market @ Granville Island for example), swinging on swings in a quiet park just chatting... thats all i can think of right now...
