A 34 year old child

1. her coworkers don't get along with her.
2. her friends think she's uptight.
3. she gets upset when her friends don't call her to go shopping -- to the point where *she's* thinking that she doesn't want to be their friends anymore (geez)
4. she gets upset when people touch her things, like her dog (ie. she made her husband tell someone not to hold her dog because she doesn't like people touching her dog)
5. she doesn't like it when her husband's mother holds her baby.
6. she doesn't want to let her mother-in-law spend time with her baby, only her own parents can spend time with her baby.
7. she's majorly two-faced.
8. her husband had to sneak behind her back and let his mom see the baby without her knowing.
9. she has temper tantrums, screams, and cries to her parents and to her husband until she gets what she wants.
10. her husband calls her parents to ask them to come over and calm her down when she has fits.
11. she is constantly saying her husband is a liar.
12. she bosses her husband around and tells him what to do. her husband is too weak-minded to stand up to her.
13. she gets angry when her mom tries to give her advice about taking care of her baby.
14. she gets overly jealous of other people and what they have (ie. money).
15. she has no manners -- she doesn't apologize when she interupts someone's dinner.
16. she's a bully when she doesn't get her way.

no she's not a kid, she's a 34 year old grown woman. anyone know what's psychologically wrong with her?

sample crawl part 4

yep.. i'm still at it :b i hopped to the Chulo Pony sample sale at Nettwerk for their Fall '05, Spring '05 and Spring '06 sample sale about a week or so ago. picked up a few things (yes only a few!)... and its not just for me. i picked up stuff for my friends as gifts :)

and yep, i got there extra early and was first in line heh...

later that week, we headed to the Burton sample sale. i picked up a much needed overnight bag with a lower compartment for my snowboard boots and a removable changing mat (so that i won't get rocks or what not in my boots), a bag for my yoga mat, and a Burton tee. deals were actually pretty good -- i got the bag for $30! (MSRP: $170), and the tee for $15! :D they had Burton boards there but i wasn't in the market for a new board... boots were pretty cheap too... but they were all demo boots.

ugh. this is becoming addictive...

boing boing boing

went to my first gymnastics class in a looong time. i was a little apprehensive at first, but everyone and the coaches were really friendly...

today, we learned backflips with spotters, then did some backwards free falling onto a really thick mat from 4 feet, 6 feet, 8 feet, and 10 feet!

it was a lot of fun... a whole bunch of us running around playing on the trampoline, springing cartwheels, backflips, tumbles on the spring floor... i felt like a kid again!

ikebana session 2

take a look at my photos from the past 2 sessions of ikebana (japanese flower arranging)...

talkin' trash

yah thats one of my pet peeves... when people say that they'll do one thing and then don't do it at all.

ie.
yah, i'll check and get back to you on that...

and then don't hear from them again.

HashQueen came over today! :D we made popcorn with her hot-air popper with cheddar sprinkles and played with my old Easy-Bake oven and made double chocolate cake yuuuummmm.. its an old Easy-Bake oven... from 1972 in army green! :D i'll post pictures next time she comes over :D

i remember playing with my Easy-Bake oven when I was kid.. and would be so excited about seeing it bake under 2 light bulbs! :b i can't believe we were as excited today! hahahahaha...

can't wait to bake more stuff. the recipe book says we can bake apple pie and all sorts of yummy food :) hmm i wonder how much food i can make with 2 light bulbs... anyone want to come to my Easy-Bake bake sale? :D

my supermodel friend!

i had a breakfast meeting with an old friend from Uni this morning... we talked business since we were on a strict timeline. i was so happy to see him today :) he's been a good friend for such a long time. i've leaned on him a few times and he's confided in me... we don't hang out as much as we'd like but we're both quite busy with our lives and one of us isn't car-mobile.

anyways, i'm just so glad we are friends and that even tho we don't see each other often, we never skip a beat when we do. everything just seems to fall in place as if we'd just spoken the day before!

yah, he's a supermodel alright... love you T!

I LOVE LYCHEE & LONGAN!

i was at the supermarket the other day and saw longan! :D but no lychee :(. longan is ok, but lychee is WAY better. i asked the guy at the supermarket when the lychee shipment comes in and he wasn't sure. so i thought i'll just get the longan to hold me over until the lychee shipments come in.

i remember going down to chinatown in TO to get a whole case of lychee with my mom and dad a couple of summers and my mom and i would eat enough lychee to fill one of those huge metal mixing bowls in one sitting for the ENTIRE summer. they were sooooo gooood.

anyone know when lychee season is? i'm definitely going to buy a case JUST FOR MYSELF!
hahahahaha

karma

i was at the bank today to make a withdrawal. the instant tellers were really busy and there was no line up at the live tellers, so instead of waiting in line to make a transaction with a machine, i thought i'd seek out some more personable assistance.

i had a cheque to deposit and i wanted to withdraw money at the same time. i watched her work as she checked my ID and did the necessary paperwork. she went to the cash machine to get the cash for me and while she was counting the money in front of me, i noticed she had given me $100 more than what i asked for.

me: um... that's $100 too much...
bank teller: oh!

she exclaimed as she checked her notes and realized she had taken out $100 more than what I had asked for.

oh thank you so much for telling me! i would have had to stay late tonite in order to file a report about the missing $100, and wouldn't be able to go home on time...

she explains as she shakes her head and looks at me in disbelief. i smiled and just realized i could have walked out of there $100 richer. i was shaking my own head in disbelief (of course i wasn't REALLY shaking my own head.. only imagining i was). a wave of relief fell over her face and i realized it was a good reflex. she probably would have had a talk with her direct manager and would be stressed out at work possibly...

she thanked me again and i left the bank. does anyone believe in karma?

tennis

a couple of friends and i started lessons in tennis the other day. for them, they hadn't played since high school and for me, well, i just started to play just a couple of years ago. we're all pretty much at the same level but man am i rusty! i can usually get a good 10 hit rally going but i guess i just need more practice.

can't wait to play more tho, i'm going to try to get out to the courts as much as possible :)

give me some sugar baby!

so i'm working out today with SH and from the workout room we can see the two vending machines just outside -- a beverage vending machine and a snack vending machine. we were working out hard as usual and SH goes to me,
you know i always see girls come down and buy junk food from the vending machine whenever i workout here. i've never seen a guy buy anything.

i walk over to the window and stare at the machine filled with chips, chocolate bars, cookies, gum, candy, etc. probably the most healthy item there was a bag of pretzels. so i say to SH,
you know i bet you the guys are just MAKING the girls come down to buy their snacks FOR them!

he looks at me in disbelief and we finish our last set.

throughout the 2.5 hours we were working out, i saw 2 people buying snacks at the machine. and guess what -- they were both girls!

so that got me thinking... are guys just too lazy to take the elevator down to the 2nd floor to get a couple of chocolate bars, or are girls the majority consumer of unhealthy snacks?

just a note: one of the girls bought 3 things! 2 chocolate bars and a bag of chips... ugh... how unhealthy. altho really i was secretly wishing i could have some! ;)

me and my mom

all this shopping reminds me of all the crazy shopping my mom and i used to do. one time we woke up at like 5 am and drove in the freezing cold, pitch dark of the morning to go to a cosmetics (max factor?) sale in some far away place. all i remember is waking up groggy, climbing into the car (or was it a van?) groggy, and arriving at the factory in the dark :b it was so cold that morning that i think we stayed in the vehicle for a bit until the doors opened! :b

of course i was too young to wear makeup, so all i did was carry the shopping basket while my mom went bezerk :b i vaguely remember seeing a whole warehouse floor full of tables with boxes and containers of foundation, mascara, lipliners, mascara, etc etc.

so THATs how i became so nutty about shopping... yah its all my mom's fault! ;b

sample crawl part 3

i can't believe i spent most the night dreaming of what i would buy at the sample sale late last week on VIP day. actually, dreaming would have been good cos then it would mean i was sleeping, but i only got 2 hours of sleep the night before :b we got there 30 minutes before opening and we were the first in line AGAIN :D DC was playing Bejewelled on his PDA-phone while i pressed my face against the window and planned my attack hahahaha...

somebody tried to bud in line but i gave him the evil eye and he backed off. then i thought, what the h3ll, he's a guy, he's not going to want the stuff i'm looking for. but then again, if he's here, he *might*. you never know these days...

opening time came and went and the lady responsible for opening finally showed up 15 minutes late. sheesh... she apologized and promptly let us in and we got to work ;)

after 2 hours, we emerged from the changing rooms and i bought a couple of spring tops for $12 each! from Nikita and Split. I also got a grey beach Lacoste bag, and a beautiful green flowing halter from Buffalo's Summer line.

immediately afterwards, we hot-footed it over the bridge to a mega shoe sample sale! as we pulled up to the parking lot, my heart started racing as i saw dozens of girls with huge bags of shoes walking out the door. i urged DC to park faster as i couldn't wait to jump out of the car! :D

as soon as he pulled the E-brake, i pulled a Dukes of Hazard and disappeared into the building, leaving DC in my wake. once i got inside, i was a little bit more than disappointed since i only found pigmy sizes left. where the h3ll are these shoes from?! oz? actually i found out that they only carry sizes 6 and 7 for ladies and 8 and 9 for men since they are only samples.

too bad, since i saw tons of killer Tsubo shoes going for a song! i headed over to the leather goods area and found a cool XOXO shoulder bag so i grabbed it and prepared to spend the next hour waiting in line to pay for it :b

nature started to call and i had to summon DC for relief duty. he finally got to my spot in line after walking a mile and i bolted for the ladies room. i returned and took my place back in line but that didn't last long. as the line progressed forward, i noticed a whole box of men's Tsubos and urged DC to take a lookie. he tried squeezing his size 11 feet into the shoes and exclaimed, "who are these shoes made for? pigmies?" hahahaha, "damn, i need both of these shoes for 1 foot!"

eventually i paid for the item and entered once more into the frey to look for any goods i might have missed. afterall, i did find a whole box of Tsubos for men. DC was scoping out the men's shoes and i noticed the type of people who were shopping around -- most of them were on the shorter side and surprisingly non-asian!

so we left and headed back to van with the intention of finding some food but we got sidetracked as DC wanted to head back to the sample sale we were at this morning :b what a girl! so we went BACK and DC picked up 3 pairs of nice board shorts from Split at $20 a pop. he still complained that they were too expensive -- WHAT A CHEAP A&&! they retail for over $70 each! :b

i couldn't help but pick up some more stuff -- 3 t-shirts for $5 and 3 tops for another $5! i also picked up a MOOKS sweatshirt from their Fall'06 line! SCORE! they weren't even supposed to have any Fall'06 stuff for sale!

we left and headed to another sample sale for MOTO jeans. all jeans were $20! so i picked up a jean skirt :D

we went to another sale that sold skateboarding street wear, carrying a lot of cool brands like Etnies, ThirtyTwo, etc. i wanted to pick up something here too but they were cash & carry and i was cashed out!

at almost 5pm, we had our lunch -- at Wendy's. no fret, i had a salad, so i was still good. haha my god, where did the time go? ;) time flies when you're shopping for bargains :b i think its because you're brain is preoccupied with all the loot that you're gonna get. teehee...

until part 4...
