Il Divo -- GM Place -- Vancouver

yes i went to the Il Divo concert here in van! it was awesome!... we had a lot of fun :) took some great pics... we had floor seats so that helped a lot :)

after the show, we pushed ourselves through the mass mob of older ladies crowding the Il Divo Souvenir booth, and I yelled out to the saleslady, "Excuse me miss, do you have any more Canucks towels?!", and my friend chimed in, "...and I'm looking for a Canucks Jersey... XL cause it has to fit over my hockey gear..."

the ladies around us just turned and gave us this "ARE YOU CRAZY?!" look as we walked away laughing our heads off...

fun times.. ;)

I LOVE YOU SEBASTIEN!!! :P
YOU TOO URS! :P

my easter weekend '07

i had an awesome easter weekend this year... no chocolate but i spent some time with my bestest friend -- eating, and shooting the shit. I also spent it with a new friend who's just as crazy or maybe even CRAZIER than me, and spent some time with another new friend who probably thinks i'm some looney toon, tripping over stairs, having a blast just people-watching, laughing and making a fool of myself in a restaurant... at least i know what to do if either one of us gets shot! ;)

i played in a vball tourney on Saturday too... that was awesome... can't wait to play outside again!

oh fun times... really really miss that. the summer is going to be fun -- i can feel it already!

Easter is cancelled

Simon Fraser University today unveiled its new logo, wordmark and tagline, designed to convey a single and consistent brand identity.

The new brand’s three elements – a red logo block with the university’s initials in white, SFU’s full name wordmark, and the tagline Thinking of the World – were developed in collaboration with brand consultant Karo Design Vancouver.

“Our aim with this initiative is to reinforce the idea that this is one university,” says Warren Gill, university relations vice-president, who chaired an all-campus branding committee tasked with selecting the brand and putting it to work.

“We wanted all our campuses and their faculties, schools and departments to be – and be clearly seen as – integrated parts of one cohesive organization, not as separate and non-aligned units, as has happened at some other universities.”

The brand will be phased in gradually at all university facilities as they use up old inventories of printed publications, business cards, stationery, external advertisements, signage, etc.

The brand was incorporated today on SFU’s Internet homepage and other SFU websites, all of which are undergoing a system-wide redesign to create a common look and feel, and navigation structure.

The branding initiative included extensive market research and audience surveys, detailed graphic-standards manuals and requirements for all print and web materials, and related consultation on website design to complement the new brand.

The university is widely known by its three initials, but the new SFU logo marks the first time in 30 years it has conveyed those initials consistently, as part of its visual identity.

The Thinking of the World tagline reflects SFU’s international research focus, its commitment to interdisciplinary learning and its active social engagement both locally and globally.

I can't believe SFU PR decided on this logo. It's a block. What the heck... It doesn't represent SFU at all. It looks like a school you see advertised on TV...
