LET ME SET (DAMMIT)!

played vball and we were running a lot of drills, which is great for me cause i need all the practice i can get with my hitting. the coach asked one of us to try setting and so i raised my hand in eagerness (i really want to learn to set well). we were working on back row hitting with a feeder line, one setter, and a back row hitting line. the coach set the first few and then he let me set. granted, i really suck at setting but hey, isn't that why i'm here -- to work on skills i need to improve on? after like about 8 sets, another dude asked me if i wanted to let him set. i'm thinking, uh no dude, *I* want to practice. but i said, "ok" and let him set reluctantly. turns out *he* wanted to practice setting too, which is fine, but he ended up setting the ENTIRE length of the drill which was like 15 minutes...

ugh. i wanted to say, "LET ME SET YOU POO!"

we visited a couple more sales this past week, trying on a few pieces from the spring, summer and fall 06 clothing lines for DKNY, Kenneth Cole, SuperDry, D'amage ($75 jeans!!!), Fornarina, Emily, Triple 5 Soul, and some smaller brands. we didn't do any damage this time around, however i'm sitting on the fence about a jacket i saw from SuperDry. teehee...

hydrated and ready to go!

went to visit skoah again this morning :D i always look forward to going -- my esthetician knows how i like my bottled water, what products i've tried or what skin regimen i'm on, she even knows whats going on in my life and remembers our conversation the last time i was there (which was about a month ago).

if you've never gone to skoah or had a facial, you HAVE to try it. you don't know what you're missing! i didn't know what i was missing until HashQueen brought me there for my first facial about a year ago :D for you lucky calgarians, there'll be a skoah coming to you real soon!

i was ushered into my private room where i quickly unclothed and hopped into my pre-heated back-friendly bed, soft with layers of blankets. then the pampering began -- she cleansed my skin and got rid of all the bad stuff with 3 different types of masks. between each mask, i was treated to a leg massage (i almost giggled out loud cause i'm pretty ticklish in my toes), an arm massage, and a shoulder and upperback massage -- pure bliss to the point where i nearly fell asleep! next came the yucky extractions and then toning and hydration!

an hour later, it was time to go home :( i have pretty sensitive skin :( and lacking in hydration so she sent me on my way with a couple of samples to keep my skin hydrated for the next while.

i have to bring my mom here -- i know she will love it!

P.S. skoah's not just for girls! guys love it here! and they have a steady guy clientelle who LOVE their signature massages... hey, its ok to be a metrosexual! even for 1 hour of your day :)

yep, sample sale hopping has officially begun.. :D

actually it started in early March with North Face. DC & I didn't buy as much this time around (thank goodness). i got a couple of toques and a couple of track jackets. :) we saw DLam and he went ape-sh*t with 3 pairs of shoes and almost $700 CAD of clothing :b who's da gurl here?! :b

just this past week was the diesel/miss sixty sample sale for spring/summer 2006. the deals were actually pretty good with most items at 50% off. so a $250 USD pair of jeans cost $125 CAD -- still a bit pricey, but if you're looking for diesel's new LIVs, then its a STEAL! ;) we were the first in line (got there at 9:15 am) and when the doors opened, i made a B-line to the jeans rack :b i also got a really nice outfit (green/turquoise blue skirt with matching blouse) at 50% off, and a purse :) DC scored a $400 jean jacket for $125 (now THATS a steal!) the markdowns are pretty good at sample sales but the real bummer is that they only have one size. for girls, all pants and jeans are usually size 28 and tops, skirts, etc are usually a size M but some cuts fit like a size S. this is the ONLY time you'll see me wishing i was a bigger girl :b
