To be a princess...

I wonder what its really like to be treated "like a princess". Ok, so what do I mean by being treated "like a princess"? Is it all about having the door opened for you? Is it having someone lend a jacket to you when you're cold? Or is it more about having someone at your beck and call? Or about having someone spoil you with material things? I think I like the first 2 better. The last 2 sounds more like a bad, evil princess. =b

Maybe its more about being considerate. I'll open the door for anyone (guy or girl) who is walking up behind me, just 'cause I'm there and it doesnt take too much effort or time out of my day. I'll lend my girlfriend my jacket if she was feeling cold too. It's not really about being treated "like a princess" now, is it? It's more about thinking about the other person, right?

But I guess there are limits... and there are many definitions when it comes to being considerate. What one person finds considerate, another person might not. Is it more a cultural thing? Or more a learned thing? What we see on TV and other types of media -- does it influence and shape our definition of what is considerate?

So, give me examples/scenarios of what you think being considerate is about...

What an awful skate session this morning. :( actually, it wasnt as bad as the previous few weeks -- at least my coach didnt yell at me for the entire lesson today. :( does she realize that i'm slowly starting to dread the idea of skating now? she says i'm "choosing to do retarded things" and that i'm "not thinking". she's the type of coach who breaks everything down technically. and to be honest, i dont remember having to think SO much when I was younger. I remember my coach showing me the jump and I would just copy her. I didnt have to think about where my arms were or how much percentage of weight was on my toe pick...

So, I'm really in a bad place right now, with my skating, which is why I havent mentioned it at all until now. My plan is to do more off-ice training and head over to the arena everyday until Fall session starts (thats if I can afford to pay for it). I've lost my Axel, and my double jumps . I am not a happy camper. If things really don't improve, I might think about getting another coach... eep...

It's been awhile, eh. Guess its time for an update. Started my tennis lessons just this past Monday. Our coach, Joey is awesome. He's subbing for our real coach who's actually playing in the Masters tournament in Montreal this week. I think he'll be joining us either tonight or next week. I got a new racquet too! Wilson Titanium-Graphite :D. Now I have 2 racquets -- just in case I break one in a tournament (yah right). I actually went to practice rallying yesterday evening with my boyfriend :) -- that was really good for me, not sure it was too challenging for him tho =P. He's a pretty good tennis player. I'm aiming to hit 2.5 level after I finish this course =P. Howeer, I don't think I can enter any tournaments until next year :(.

Watch out Martina Hingas!!! ;)
