"Thank you"

Yep.

"Yep"? what kind of an answer is that to a "Thank you."? Isn't the proper response, "You're welcome", or how about "Don't worry about it", "No problem", or "My pleasure"?

when someone answers "Yep", or "Mm-hmm" it sounds as if they are admitting to themselves and to you that they are better than you. that they are all-knowing, elitist, and they portray the image that you're somehow not worthy of their presence or of whatever they helped you with, for you to say "Thank you" for.

does anyone feel the same? i know i've asked one person about this before and he admitted that he felt the same way and that he would "NEVER" say that, but then today I said, "Thank you" to him and guess what his reply was,

Yep.

night market try #1

JW and i have been talking about going to the night market in richmond for a bit now, so we finally got into the car and headed down to richmond tonite. on the drive down i was in a good mood cause i was pretty hungry and couldn't wait to grab some food there.

we got there at 11pm and found parking relatively easily which was kinda strange cause i remember it being hell just trying to find free parking. when we got to the market, it was closing up! i had no idea it closed early on sunday night :( grrr...

so after wandering richmond for a bit we went to a HK cafe (with a baby grand! haha! oooo so upscale :b ), and had a late dinner (dinner number 2 for JW :b..).

next time we'll get to night market earlier :b

high expectations

today i played in a beach vball tourney with friends and what happened today made me realize that i have high expectations of other people and many of them don't seem to meet them. oftentimes they've even disappointed me.

its things like, being late for something, for example. i expect ANYONE, not just friends of mine, to call me if they're going to be late. this morning, i got to the tourney before 8 am. the rest of the team except for 2 people (B and K) got there on time (8:15 am). B and K didn't get there until 9 am!

here we are, 2/3 of the team warming up, getting ready to play and in comes those 2 sauntering in. did they apologize? nope. we called and called them on their cellphones and they didn't pick up. why didn't they just call to let us know that they were on the way? better yet, why didn't they just GET UP IN TIME so that they would make it to the beach ON TIME?

i wouldn't be this upset if it was league or drop-in or what-not. but for a TOURNEY, you'd think your teammates would get there on time, right? it just shows they don't have the respect for other people on the team, nor the consideration.

TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF PLEASE!

ugh.. i really get annoyed when people just don't take their shoes off when they come into my suite. ESPECIALLY when i just finished washing the floors. this isn't your home, so respect OTHER people's home by taking off your shoes!!! (unless of course they wear their shoes in the house too which is beyond my comprehension...)

busy like a bee

i have been so incredibly busy this past week and a bit, working on some DM pieces, an internal website for another client, creating another company's brand identity collateral, chasing after clients whose invoices are not paid yet, quoting on future work, gathering translators, and making numerous trips to the printer. On average, I've had about 4 hours of sleep each night for the past week. I am dead tired.

and here i am, blogging at 3 am. i must be crazy or just stupid to be up this late. sure i'm tired and sleepy, but i just can't seem to make myself crawl into my bed at a decent time now that the dust has settled work-wise.

next week seems better, however i have to work a couple of hours tomorrow (sunday). and then i'll have time to head to a volleyball-and-bbq birthday thing in the afternoon! :) that should be fun, altho i have a feeling i'll just be lying there on my mat just relaxing...

other than work being a bit hectic for me, there's really nothing big to talk about.

ok i'm starting to yawn.. time to head to my nice warm bed :)
