my kids... :)

i've been coaching 6 ice skating classes at BCSC the past 5 weeks.. my kids (yes i know they're not REALLY mine) have all been really good and i just adore the 4 and 5 year olds. it's always so rewarding to teach them how to fall and how to get up and to finally watch them get up on their own. it is SOOOOO cute! :D one of my kids gave me a picture they had drawn at home of me and her skating on a pond outside of a house!! :D

i won't be there to give them their report cards this sunday tho as i'll be doing NCCP. :( i spent an hour writing up their report cards last night. its always so hard to *not* pass a kid :(

i have a new set of kids next session and that'll go till december when i'm off to visit my family in YYZ!

dancing the nite away

went out last night with LL, the girls (6 of us) and 3 token guys, to a club downtown. we were lookin' H-O-T ;) (hahaha) and a couple of us had already popped some shooters at LL's. as for the guys, well, with 1 girl on each arm, let's just say they weren't complaining ;)

i haven't been out clubbing in such a LONG time but it didn't take me too long to jump onto the dance floor. things really haven't changed much. lots of people dancing and lots of guys/girls lounging around looking at all the eye candy. ;) S and I noticed a bunch of really young asian guys with a couple of asian girls practicing their grinding :b. it was hilarious.. that's all they were doing! K dared me to go up to them and show them how its really done! hahahaha ... i think i'd have to be a bit more drunk to do that!

didn't get home till past 4 am and didn't get to bed till 4:45 am. and i had to coach early the next morning too! ugh.. 3 hours of sleep is definitely not enough ... *yawn*

anyone in the 604 wanna dance with us crazy vball girls, we'll be out Friday (A) AND Saturday (tbd)!

me: of course! it was dark, there was loud music, and lots of *balls*.... :D what more could i ask for? ;)

fraud

fraud is a crime, whether or not its insurance fraud, identity fraud, credit card fraud -- fraud is fraud, right? and people should be aware if someone they know has committed fraud... i mean i would like to know if someone i know who i think i could trust has committed some type of fraud that might affect me personally, in some way. knowing this information, i might not want to put 100% trust in this person.

so if i talk about it and let people know about it, i'm doing them a favour, right? just trying to figure out whether or not i should tell people who'd be concerned...

eat eat and more eat

as you can guess, i spent the past few days EATING :) friday night MP and i had dinner downtown with a bunch of people i just met and since it was an all-you-can-eat place, we stuffed ourselves... at least i did :b we ended up playing texas hold'em at someone's house till the wee hours in the morning...

saturday, i ate myself silly and drank martinis at Part II of a housewarming party. J and i won the Stanley Cup at hockey foozball (7 times undefeated!!!) and ended the night with a good drinking game. i had *so* much fun that night... ;)

sunday was awesome... had Tdinner at LG's parent's house and stuffed myself with dessert afterwards too... hahahaha i LOVE holiday eating :b

went to weigh myself at the gym ... i'm 3 pounds heavier than usual... of course it *can't* be the food.. must have been all the water i was drinking that day.

yah righT.

what a freak

so this guy called me last night out of the blue... apparently i met him at a social event early this summer and gave him my business card. it was a little weird, but i do recall speaking with him briefly while making my way through the crowd. he sounded so friendly -- asking me how my day went and making good conversation. all the while i'm thinking, "what the heck does this guy want?" so he kept chatting away, but i just had to ask...

me: so whats up?
PC: oh i wanted to ask you if you're busy Thursday night...
me: Thursday? well, it depends what time. i skate every Thursday night.
PC: figure skating?! really?! wow, thats cool.
me: ...
PC: well, Thursday night my company is holding a financial planning and concepts seminar that i thought you might be interested in...

and i just groaned inside.. this guy was trying to sell me his company's finance seminar!!!! what a FREAK. do i look that STUPID?

so i told him that i already have a finance advisor that i LOVE and trust with my financial affairs...

PC: but if you're busy Thursday, we have another one this Saturday at 2:30pm...

... and i realized he wasn't even listening to me. :P

you know, i'd be ok with this sort of thing if we had met at a business networking event and/or if we had talked about his company and i had shown an interest. but we met at a SOCIAL event.. and believe me, it was VERY social. he asked for my business card so we exchanged cards. oh well...

so anyways, i sat down this morning at my computer and guess what.. there's an email from Mr. SalesGuy (PC) himself, describing how wonderful his seminars are and what they would entail.

wow.. what a weekend

i had the most *incredible* weekend! GNO-II was awesome.. all 15 or so, of us flocked to MC's pad in kits, ate TONS of food, and the martinis kept flowing (thanks to HF!).. i lost count at 5 :b

whats funny is that i didn't realize we were all connected to each other somehow. i met someone's ex-girlfriend (heh, that was an interesting conversation), and linked each other to one another thru mutual friends. a couple of people knew an ex of mine! hahaha gotta be careful -- you can't screw anyone over in vancouver! who knows *who* or *what* they know... ;)

our Asian SitC group came full circle (6 chicas)... i'm so lucky i found them!

then Sunday i coached my kids, washed my car in the nice sunny HOT weather ;), and sat down for a $2k dinner (6 courses, 4, or was it 5, bottles of wine, 4 hours of great conversation and company)!

hahaha this is *the* life... :D

it's Gurlz Nite Out tomorrow nite! i can't wait! :D a bunch of single girls, booze, and lounging... to the eligible guys of Vancouver, watch out! ;)
